Eli Soriano does not believe the Genesis account of creation of six literal 24-hour days. Instead, he subscribes to the version of Evolution that says it took millions of years for everything to be created. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Hold on to your seats because the Bible will be under attack by Soriano again. I'll try to show you as plainly and as clearly as possible what is going on so you will see hypocrisy being displayed by the self-proclaimed "most sensible preacher".</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">What is 'hypocrisy' anyway? Webster's dictionary says, "a pretense of virtue". Let's analyze that for a moment, shall we? 'Pretense' means "to deliberately create a false impression of something". In simpler terms, it means, 'to pretend'. The other word, 'virtue' is a word that embodies goodness, moral excellence, and chastity. With this short study of words, we now understand what Webster meant. A 'hypocrite' is "someone who pretends to be good". In our day-to-day lives, we encounter people like these everyday. They who say one thing to appear good and virtuous, but does the exact opposite without hesitation or difficulty whatsoever.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now why would a word like 'hypocrite' be attached to a preacher... and to the "most sensible preacher" at that? I have two answers. One, is that God gave us the capacity to discern between good and evil and right from wrong (thanks a lot grandpa Adam), so identifying false preachers like Soriano would not be difficult. And two, Soriano himself displays his character for all to see. And it's not a pretty picture, I'm telling you. To be fair, I am not basing this personal preference of what a preacher should be or how he should conduct himself. Besides, the Bible already did that. My words are cheap. I can say the foulest things about somebody like Soriano and it won't mean a thing. But when it is the Bible that talks, it is God Himself uttering those words. </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The Bible speaks to us as clearly and as straighforward as possible so as to avoid confusion and/or ambiguity. What it calls wrong, IS wrong. What it calls right, IS right. There is no gray line or "in betweens". God would not put anybody in a position of insecurity or confusion.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So why is Soriano a hypocrite?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Soriano SAYS he believes in the Bible alone, yet he dismisses the Biblical account of 6 days of creation. The Bible is very clear that creation took six literal 24 hour days to complete (and this is scientifically backed) and not billions of years as Evolutionists and Soriano would want us to believe. Soriano is trying to inject an evolutionary timeline into God's creation week. His basis hangs on the intentional clouding of the Hebrew word 'yom' </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">(meaning 'day') as a "period of time" similar to saying "in my father's day", or "the day of the Lord".</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> Essentially, Soriano is promoting a theistic evolution stance similar to what is called the Gap Theory.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Sure enough Soriano employs the scriptures saying that "a day is like a thousand years unto the Lord", a Psalm... a song written with freedom in glorification. Whereas the creation account is a different matter. There is no other nuance of the word 'day' that is appropriate except for a literal 24 hour day. Moreover, any reference to the days of creation week is addressed in singular and definite form "THE first day". That's a definite article. There can be more than one "first day" but there can only be one "THE first day".</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Oh by the way, there are Bible perversions that say "a first day" instead of "the first day". These are intentional changes put in by proponents of Evolution. They think that stretching the days would allow the acceptance of the possibility of Evolution being used by God to create everything in the universe. Evolution preaches that death came before sin, while the Bible says that sin came before death. They are polar opposites.. one is definitely wrong and one is absolutely right. Now to believe that the God of the Bible would use Evolution to create, is belief in a different god. This is what Soriano wants... for people to believe in another god. A god that uses Evolution to create. This is a cruel, sadistic, and retarded god. That is not the God of the Bible. The God of the Bible can create by just speaking things into existence. Soriano's version of God is clearly different.</span><br />

This would include all the flowering and non-flowering plants, trees, shrubs, bushes, etc. This alone would show us that there is no period of millions of years before Day 4. Why? Because on Day 4, the Bible tells us that God created the sun, moon, and stars. The sun is what's responsible for the plants to make food (photosynthesis). It would be very hard on those plants to have to wait millions of years for the sun to come up, right? Soriano should have thought of this if he was indeed as sensible as he is purported to be. </span> </blockquote>

Among these are the countless number and variety of insects. Insects that are responsible for the pollination of plants. How could millions of years be possible in between days 3, 4, and 5 of creation with plants waiting that long? If we were to believe as Soriano believes, plant life would never had been possible. But if we were to keep steadfast to what the Bible clearly says, twenty four hours is not a long time for plants to wait for the sun. Nor is another twenty four hours for the pollinators to do their jobs.</span></blockquote>

Let us guard against false preachers like Soriano who preach a different scripture, a different god, and ultimately a different salvation. <i><b>2 Corinthians 11:4 </b></i>warns us <b><i>"</i></b></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><i>For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."</i></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Topics like creation may not be a salvation issue, but any lie purported as truth by a preacher who is exposed as false and openly displays wanton disregard to what scripture says, is the very thing Jesus warned us about.</span><br />

Evolution is the Devil's concoction, it means to take God away from the creation picture and put in millions of years instead. "Why?" you might ask, does Eli Soriano, the supposed "most sensible" of preachers, NOT believe in Christ's second coming? His answer is as plain as it is insultingly stupid. Believe it or not, Soriano answers this question with, "The word "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwKcFsM7sEs" target="_blank">second coming</a>" is not found in the Bible." <br /><br />He will go as far as challenge the listeners to look for it in scripture. He adds, "the term second coming is not true because it implies that Jesus only came to earth only once." This is not scriptural he says. And every preacher who tells his flock that there will be a second coming of Christ on earth is teaching "a very big mistake".</span><br />

"</i></b><span style="background-color: white;"><b><i>And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ."</i></b> This is what Soriano bases his teaching on... that Christ suddenly appeared as a rock. A literal rock that spewed water to quench the thirst of the Israelites. This is what Soriano uses to teach that Christ came to earth before the New Testament times, so there is no such thing as a "second coming". Could he be deliberately ignoring the word "spiritual" in that verse? Or could he really be ignorant to the fact that "second coming" refers to the bodily return of Christ? </span></span><br />

What 1 Corinthians says is true and irrefutable scripture. Jesus was indeed the "spiritual" rock that quenched the thirst of the Israelites in the wilderness. But when Soriano insinuates Jesus incarnating himself as a rock (a physical one) he concludes that this is a "coming" of the Lord Jesus. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">In 1 Corinthians 10:4, Paul says that the miracle had great symbolic significance. "That Rock was Christ." The Greek word used for "rock" is <i>petra</i>, the same word Christ used when He said that <b><i>"upon this rock I will build my church" (Matthew 16:18).</i></b> Christ is the foundation upon which the church is built (1 Corinthians 3:11). So the true essence, the actual context of the scripture Soriano uses, refers to Christ <b>IN SPIRIT</b>. While the term "Second Coming" refers to the <b>BODILY </b>incarnation of Christ. <br /><br />Jesus did not manifest himself as a rock as Soriano suggests, in fact the rock is a SYMBOLISM of Christ according to Paul. Christ is also </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">symbolized by the <i style="font-weight: bold;">"living water," </i>the <i style="font-weight: bold;">"well of water springing up into everlasting life" (John 4:10, 14). </i></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The actual rock from which the waters burst forth in the wilderness did not literally "follow them," of course, but "that spiritual Rock" did follow them, for Christ was there with them through all their years of wandering. </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The literal water followed them too, keeping them alive for forty years. </span><br />

To what end does it benefit you to discredit preachers who teach of Christ's "Second Coming"? Personally I don't see anything you would gain other than brainwashed followers. But the Devil sure has a lot to cheer about. You just used the Bible to falsify the Bible by means of your shallow and ignorant interpretation. There are over 300 verses in the Bible telling of Jesus' return and coming reign and you dare refute it with one poorly interpreted verse? </span><br />

Jesus is coming again to claim his redeemed and to rule over all. Words we use like "second coming" "rapture", "trinity", etc, may not be "written" in the Bible but it does not mean it is not true. These are names we give Biblical concepts so that we may refer to them easily. Saying there is no truth to a "second coming" is the same as saying "he is not coming at all" with the way Soriano attacks this Biblical truth. </span><br />

At first I was chuckling at the information that Soriano tells his followers to pray facing towards the East. As in the "towards Mecca" kind. But it appears he was serious and not kidding at all. We hear Soriano defend this "preference to order" as he calls it, but is actually a subtle indoctrination of another unbiblical concept.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Like most of Soriano's fallacies, he claims this teaching is rooted in the Bible. We'll take a look at them and analyze as thoroughly as possible so as not to leave cracks in the argument. Soriano cites 2 Chronicles 6:34... </span><br />

Since this was the manner the Jews were ordered to do, this is the manner Soriano tells his flock to follow. This is far better and "biblical" according to him rather than facing just anywhere. It is more biblical he says than facing an altar full of graven idols like the Catholics do. He then cites how the Lord dislikes idolatry in the form of things made by man.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />To this I asked a few questions that unfortunately only fell on Soriano's defenders' ears. I would have wished for Soriano himself to answer them but it's understandably difficult to constantly be in one place when you're on the lam. Anyway, I did ask and the answers I got all ended up with me being labeled as "sa demonyo" ("of the demon"). Come to think of it, I doubt Soriano would have answered differently.<br /><br />My questions went... </span><br />

This practice is observed by Muslims and Orthodox Catholics and this is the first time I ever heard of supposed "Christians" practicing it. I thought what's next... a personal carpet? Even actual Jews facing east knows it's tradition not a compulsion. Why then is it a prescription in MCGI? Is Soriano exercising influence? Flaunting his clout? It could be a lot of things really, but biblical isn't one of them. Personally, I believe it is yet another attack on what the Bible TRULY preaches about <a href="http://wolfinthehenhouse.blogspot.com/2011/08/soriano-limits-gods-engagements.html?utm_source=BP_recent">God's omnipresence</a>, which Soriano denies so much.<br /><br />Surely Soriano does not expect his followers to think that God hovers above Jerusalem all the time waiting for prayers does he? The "significance" he mentions like "Jesus first taught in the east", "Jesus was born in the East", are all metaphorical in the sense that we should look toward Jesus, our future and not the past (sin)... to look forward to Christ who is the finisher of our faith, look toward His glory that is to come. That... would have been a more acceptable reason for true believers of Christ. Instead of calling it a biblical alternative to <span style="background-color: white;">altars made by man. </span>Telling people that they should face east towards Jerusalem to mimic God's armies fighting wars outside of the city is unnecessary. Telling people that there is a "lot of significance" towards facing eastward thereby elevating it in importance is a mistaken understanding of what the Bible really means.</span><br />

People are described praying while kneeling, kneeling with arms stretched out, with bowed heads, while standing, with eyes open, with eyes closed, on their bellies, face on the ground, even praying while seated. So there is no prescribed position a believer is to assume because the Lord is not concerned about position of the body or direction one is facing. God is more concerned with the right attitude of the heart. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 16:7... </span><br />

If they wish to observe Jewish rituals, that's fine by me. </span><br />

Observing Christmas thus becomes an association with Catholics instead of simply an observance of Jesus coming to earth to save man. In effect, MCGI cult members believe, that Christmas is pagan and is of the Devil. This is Soriano's teaching. And such is to be obeyed lest he be tagged "of the devil".</span><br />

A bold claim came out that God uses the Hebrew calendar. I went along with it in order to get more information as to how it was being used by God. The reason I got was because The Jews wrote of it in the Book of Ester (Ester 3:7), and since God's writers only wrote what God has inspired for them to write, God appears to be using the Hebrew calendar. I thought that it was quite convincing and fair to say since all scripture is from God. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">He goes on to say that since God uses the Hebrew calendar, Jesus birth does not fall on December if you calculate (with a lot of presumptions) using the account on 1 Chronicle 24:6-19. There, Zacharias' servitude in the temple is deduced from his association with Abijah who served on the eight month of the Hebrew calendar. Six months after Zacharias' service in the temple, his wife Elizabeth becomes pregnant with John (the Baptist) and Mary, a few months later. Mathematically, Jesus would have been born on either September or the first week of October of the Gregorian calendar. That is fine investigative work by any means. <br /><br />But the truth stops there, and hypocrisy starts to take over.<br /><br />Among Soriano's other doctrines oft defended by his followers is the non-observance of tithe giving. Sure, the Bible does not force it on Christians, they are allowed to give any amount, be it a tenth, less, or more, as long as it is given with a glad heart. But Soriano lambastes those who give tithes since he believes and teaches against it. He reasons that tithes were commanded of the Jews in the Old Testament. Moses ordered this upon God's instructions to tax the people. He even fabricates lies telling of forced collections on Christians, and that the pastors are greedy with tithes because of this. <br /><br />I personally don't know of any forced tithe-giving by Christians... true Christians that is. If there was any known forced tithe-giving, it is by the INC (Iglesia Ni Cristo), and they're not even Christians. They're just the same as Soriano's MCGI, a cult. </span><br />

Well, Sabbath is an observance ordered of the Jews... as is tithe-giving. Sabbath was instituted through Moses' instructions to the Jews... as is tithe-giving. Sabbath is an Old Testament teaching... as is tithe-giving. So why is Sabbath acknowledged by Soriano while tithe-giving isn't? </span><br />

He will claim to believe only in the Bible but he will also subscribe to evolution all in the same breath. Which by all means is a hypocrite's stance for a supposed man of God. The following is another proof of how Soriano undermines what is Biblical with his opinions.</span><br />

For something to be called "a science" like this evolution lie they're shoving down our throats, it has to go through the scientific process of proving. They have to be observable, testable, demonstrable, and repeatable. Evolution and the big bang fail in all of these miserably. Evolution is NOT science. Soriano would deny the Bible's account of Jesus's genealogy which is clearly recorded from generation to generation, from father to son, and from Adam to Joseph (Jesus's adoptive father). Why? Because according to Soriano, not all 12 sons of Israel had their genealogies expressed in the Bible. He says Dan's lineage is missing so the Bible is incomplete, and without Dan's lineage, the Bible could not be a book of genealogy and could not be a good record of the age of the earth. So basing the age of the earth according to the genealogies in the Bible would be a "gross miscalculation".</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This is a very poor defense for Soriano. One that any layman can take apart. In fact, I'm going to try and crack it wide open. Dan's genealogy is not in the Bible because it is not essential to trace the lineage of Jesus from Adam. Only the essential characters are mentioned even if only so briefly, to keep account of who begat who. Apart from a few notable women characters, the Bible often negates mentioning the mothers. Just the fathers who begat sons. The Bible is also keen in noting at what age fathers begat their sons. The Biblical record of genealogies is amazing. In fact if you chart out the lineage from Adam, you will find that Noah may have met grandpa Adam!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Soriano would then bring up diamonds as elements that need billions of years to be formed. This appears to be a major basis for him to deny a God that can create everything in six 24 hour days. It's not surprising given the fact that <a href="http://wolfinthehenhouse.blogspot.com/2011/09/god-cannot-lie-therefore-god-is-not.html"><span style="color: purple;"><b><i>Soriano teaches that God is not omnipotent</i></b>. </span></a>Apparently, Soriano is not aware that man has been manufacturing diamonds for decades already. Real science has discovered that the right combination of heat and pressure will produce diamonds similar to how diamonds are formed naturally. This proves that it does not take millions or billions of years to form a diamond. Evolution along with Soriano is debunked by real science.</span><br />

Belief in evolution means you put death before sin, which is directly opposite to what scripture says. Evolution preaches that through death, everything has evolved into today's fittest creatures. The Bible tells us that through Adam, sin entered into the world and then death followed (<i><b>Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;</b></i>).</span><br />

Don't mistake the MCGI (Members, Church of Christ International) for a legitimate religion because it's not. It's a cult, no matter how fervently Soriano denies it. It exhibits all the signs of Satan's handiwork and its forerunner is none other than potty-mouthed Eliseo Soriano.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I guess this is part of Soriano's strategy... to defame and demean. So it's no wonder why he has the ire of many church leaders. He gets ripped left and right and he enjoys it. Why? Because he gets to cuss angrily on air, to the twisted delight of his fanatics. It gives him notoriety. And it in turn translates into ratings, and ratings into money. You should see him get irked and melt the speakers off your TV with his constant swearing.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">How can a supposed sent of God be such a foul mouth?</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Nothing about Soriano merits any association with God. His obscenities alone show that. With the spitting like a goon and the swearing like a common potty mouth, he's showing his true colors. And what does he do instead of apologizing to viewers both young and old alike for his behavior? He defends his actions by claiming God allows it! That cussing is the sense of the Bible (whatever that means). That God did not put any prohibition on such foul words, and that even God Himself said bad words in the good book. What more do people need to hear from this loony to realize they are following an evil man? Soriano continues to say that determining when and to whom bad words are to be used is to the Christian's discretion. And since God did not say "don't use bad words", why shouldn't Christians call a fool a fool? In short he is saying that it's okay for Christians to cuss the way he does because he is just being real. He says he is no mere illusion (of sainthood)?</span><br />

Sure there is no single verse in the Bible that explicitly says "do not cuss" the way Soriano likes to read it, but it is abundantly clear that what comes out of our mouths come from our hearts. <i><b>“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”</b></i> <b><i>(Luke 6:45)</i></b> Is there any doubt that what's in Soriano's heart is nothing but evil? Would you continue to listen to his hogwash with a side dish of obscenities? Protect your ears and the ears of your children from this worker of evil.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The Bible tells us that it is a sin to cuss or swear. That's a fact Soriano would not bring up. Because it will be very damaging to his justifications. The Bible tells us, <b><i>"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."</i></b><i><b>(Ephesians 4:29)</b></i> and <b><i>"For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile."</i></b> <i><b>(1 Peter 3:10) </b></i>These two verses alone destroys his defense and exposes his wickedness. His hollow claim of being the "sent of God" rings more loudly with his obvious ignorance of these convicting words from the Bible.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Our Christian lives should not be characterized by evil speech the way Soriano is trying to tell us through his blasphemous claims. Why would a God so perfect and pure condone Soriano's gutter vocabulary? To what benefit would it be for people to follow Soriano? None. He will only and surely lead people to destruction instead of salvation. For how can he claim to do as God wills when he praises and curses with the same mouth?<b><i> "With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water." (James 3:9-12)</i></b></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">What have we proven here? That Soriano is NOT of God. His inner being is displayed for all to see. His thoughts, actions and words. His swearing and cursing is evidence of the wickedness in his heart. While it is true that even workers of God are susceptible to sin because the enemy is constantly attacking believers, it is shamefully uncharacteristic of a Christian to wantonly exhibit a distasteful vocabulary. Shield your ears folks, spare your children too. For even without salvation and God in the picture, gutter language should be frowned upon in society.</span><br />

The Seventh Day Adventists (SDA) and the Jehova's Witness (JW) do the same in radio and print. The Muslims even want Soriano beheaded. And TV reporters from the major stations have very little nice things to say about this self-proclaimed god from the MCGI. The old saying, "respect begets respect, hate begets hate" shines prominently on this.</span><br />

Why then is Soriano receiving so much heat if he was sent of God? The answer, is because he is NOT God's messenger, nor was he sent by God.</span><br />

Knockout blows coming from the Bible has left him sprawled on the canvass with no chance of beating the count. And there is no bell that'll save him. He's up against God's design for preachers of the Gospel. This design is exact and does not need another round to be crowned superior to the one Soriano has. If Soriano were a true man of God, and is sent by God, this would have had a different outcome. But all Soriano has going for him is his self-proclaimed designation as "sent".</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Who is he kidding? No one. Who has he fooled? Apparently a lot of his members who choose to ignore fact from fiction, embracing a man known by the church as a perverter of the gospel, and a pervert by everyone else. They are blinded by their idolatrous adoration that is no different from the Israelites' worship of a golden idol while the very shadow of God is upon them. Imagine that. The truth is all around them yet they choose to hear and obey only Soriano.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">If these people truly follow only the Bible like they say they do, the Bible would have slapped sense back into their heads long ago. They themselves would have seen Soriano's manipulative lies. They themselves would have discovered the deception that has caused them to sin against God. They are unconsciously sinning of wanton idolatry. Now there's an oxymoron if ever there was one to describe Soriano's followers. These people are lost along with the one who leads them, and they are all headed for destruction.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Reaching out to help them is an even bigger challenge given the fact that they are brainwashed by Satan's little helper. Though claiming to love their neighbors, their temperaments have shorter fuses than cheap firecrackers. They easily flip from being brotherly to enemy when shown how their leader's teaching differs from what the Bible says. You can sense an automatic change in their tone and disposition when they realize they need their leader to answer for them.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Having engaged quite a number of Soriano fanatics, I've charted something of a road map they all seem to follow when Soriano's false teaching is challenged. Initially they'll defend the teaching, using the verses Soriano himself supplies. But as we have witnessed time and again, the shallow nature of Soriano's context is easily exposed. This plants doubt in their minds. Sometimes you get a nod from those who do find Soriano's explanation shallow, then explore what the Bible really has to say, praise God for that. While others take to heart their defense of Soriano's opinion. They'll even unashamedly display the same hate their leader has for a television station. Sorry Matthew, Soriano won't teach them to love their enemies.</span><br />

There is no hesitation whatsoever in calling people who oppose Soriano as "demons" or any of the Soriano-sanctioned cuss words. He tells them it's okay to call people such because the Bible itself says so. Completely throwing Timothy's instructions out the window. And in turn painting a new picture of what a messenger of God should be... a name-calling bully. Unsurprisingly, this is justified according to Soriano.</span><br />

If Soriano follows only the Bible like he says he does, why does he keep attacking other churches for tithe giving? It is clear as it is specific that God's people are to return a tenth of their earnings so that there will be "meat" in God's house.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">During the Old Testament times, meat is literally used by the priests in God's tabernacle for their daily offerings. Two lambs a day were offered and four lambs on Sabbaths. More are needed for other festivals and sin offerings. The tabernacle fires need to be kept burning too. So oil and lumber are also in constant need. How would Levite priests supply these out of their own pockets? They can't. And so tithing was instituted where every Israelite was to give 10 percent of everything they earned and grew for use in the Temple. The materials would be in abundant supply and the priests were also taken care of. This way, they can keep their minds on their duties to God and the people and not be under any temptation to neglect it for the making of necessary provision for their families.</span><br />

Instead of giving an explanation, biblical or otherwise, they all seem to go the path of the gutter. Insults and disparaging words start shooting off their mouths to derail the discussion and change the topic. If they can't make you see it Soriano's way, you will be ridiculed and heckled.</span><br />

(1 Corinthians 16:2).</b> </i>Not that far off from the Old Testament concept right? The tithe is still for the church's use. To keep it running, to make it grow, and to support its priests.</span><br />

As long as it is given to the Lord with a glad heart, it doesn't matter how much it is.<b> <i>"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." </i><i>(2 Corinthians 9:7)</i></b></span><br />

For Christians and Jews alike, giving tithes is intended for the house of God. However, Christians are to give freely as their hearts desired with no compulsion and no set amount. Giving depends on the ability of the Christian and the needs of the church. The Old testament law is changed for the saved in Christ but it is not removed. Remember those key words... tithing for Christians was changed, not removed. </span><br />

Soriano wants his own interests, not God's. So he teaches his flock that God is the richest there is, that God would have no need for their money, and it would be insulting to God to give him money. Instead of giving tithes to God, Soriano would tell people to give money so that his media ministry may continue to reach more people.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And let's not forget that the poor souls he has in his grasp that he calls a church are all deceived unbelievers. Soriano actually wants more unsaved souls. He wants more unbelievers for his Master in Hell. The offerings these people give do not go to God's work. But end up in Soriano's pockets. So instead of God's church growing, it's Soriano's bank account that's ballooning. Evident in his lavish lifestyle spent in a non-extradition country. Evident in the countless businesses, land, automobiles, and other properties he has in his name. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A consolation would have been the 3,700 seat house of worship worth millions that he kept bragging about years ago; yet not a single nail has been seen so far by his congregation. He bad-mouths other pastors as money-grabbing and tithe-centered thieves who are only concerned about the money members will give. But how many pastors live the life that Eli Soriano lives? Those who are truly called into the Lord's work do so in poverty. They do not have the extravagant lifestyle Soriano has. They live by the grace of God alone, not by monetary cunning that Soriano utilizes. The tithes and offerings go to the Lord's work, not to their bellies, as Soriano accusingly points out. He is actually the person living out the very accusations he speaks of.</span><br />

I guess it's only fair to explain the basis of this claim using the template that existing cults follow. This is to show that I am not doing this merely to defame or persecute Soriano, but to help open the eyes of the multitudes he has deceived into his fold. I could care less about Soriano and his defenders but the urging of the Holy Spirit is stronger than anything else. And it alone takes the fear, hate, apprehension, and bias away from pursuing this endeavor.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The first characteristic of a cult is the inclination to hold the <b>leader's word as superior to the Bible</b>. Cults will deny what God says in His Word as completely true especially if it goes against their doctrines. They use God's very own words to inject doubt into the minds of followers by weaving half-truths and ambiguity one after the other taken from the same Bible. The explanation and <b>interpretation if Scripture is exclusive to the leader of the cult</b>. Members are not permitted to do so on their own. There is no permission for self study. This is why all questions are directed to the leader. Moreover, <b>they look at their leader as infallible</b>. </span></div>

Questioning the leader's word is like going against God himself. Eventually, the followers change their theological point of authority away from God's full and final written Word, the Bible, to the cult leader's own unique, self-promoting opinions about the Bible. They will still use the Bible for convenience. But everything is lip service now. They can try all they want, but Soriano's cult members will have to keep fooling their own minds to deny what this identifier says about their cult. Because it is spot on.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Cults teach that salvation depends upon something other than the Atonement for sins through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. <b>For cults, Jesus' sacrifice is not enough to save them from sin </b>and to complete this, human works is injected into their doctrine. The cult's message of salvation is clouded with obedience to requirements declared by its leader, instead of relying on the grace of God alone for salvation. Because of this, <b>there is no guarantee of salvation for the member</b>. The member is continually bound to obligations instead of being spiritually free. Obligations also lead to financial exploitation where the member is brainwashed that money contributed to the cause will be reciprocated substantially.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In order to gain favor with the market they target, <b>they will use ambiguous doctrines</b> meant to deceive rather than enlighten. They will cater to itching ears and say what is popular or what the public wants to hear. Hidden behind these propaganda lies the doctrinal beliefs they will impart once the listener has decided to become part of the cult. </span></div>

Regardless of the cult, they all claim this exclusivity with God as the only ones who will enter into heaven. A condition is thereafter set, that to become saved, you MUST join their cult. Moreover the leader will surely say that it will be impossible to serve God without becoming a member. That's another bull's-eye for Soriano's MCGI.</span></div>

He will label himself as the messiah (like Apollo Quiboloy), the sent, the angel of the Lord (like Felix Manalo), a god (like Eliseo Soriano), etc. This is followed with declarations that all others are dishonest, deceitful, from the devil, all the while it is they who exhibit all manner of Satanic characters. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">They will welcome blogs like this and call it persecution. Soriano in particular will claim he is being attacked for righteousness sake. He will consider this as evidence that what he teaches is the only and true body of Christ. A member then, will find the weight of the world on his shoulders should he decide to leave the cult. The poor soul will be conditioned to think that to leave the group is to leave God Himself. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>There will always be a special discovery</b> like holy literature, communion with the dead, angels, or even God. They will either demote Christ, make Him subordinate, or worse, make Him a creation and not the creator.</span></div>

Because of this, the ignorant remain ignorant. The prisoners in MCGI, remain prisoners in MCGI. And they are willingly allowing Soriano to fill their heads with falsehoods. This lot will only have their chance at redemption at the time of Jesus' return. In a twisted perversion of scripture, this means that Christ's death should mean little to the Gentiles since it was not meant for them. Would Jesus have to die all over again for the Gentiles? Because it is written in scripture that the punishment for sin is death (Romans 3:23) and the atonement for it is the blood of the innocent. The answer is no of course. Soriano's teaching is heretical to the last letter. He would have Christ doing a sequel to His last stint on earth.</span></div>

He uses a perverse misinterpretation of <i><b>1 Timothy 3:15, "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."</b></i> Claiming that God has NAMED His church as "Church Of The Living God, The Pillar And Ground Of The Truth". People only need to JOIN to be saved, because God has established it, and it's there already, nothing else is needed but JOIN. This is a lie Soriano says through his teeth. </span></div>

They are RESULTS of salvation. Because of our sin, we cannot earn salvation by any means. There is no manual with 10 steps or 1000 steps to follow. That is why Jesus had to die in our place. We are totally incapable of paying our sin debt to God or cleanse ourselves from sin. Only God could accomplish our salvation. God Himself completed the necessary “steps” and thereby freely offers salvation to anyone who will receive it from Him. </span></div>

When you delve deeper, they are not shy in presenting Biblical reference which more often than not, do not have relevance to the doctrine they preach. It just so happens that a word or two can be found in such verses, that they use it to try and substantiate their claims. It's not hard to recognize the shallow nature in which they interpret scripture. This is mainly because their fundamentals are shaky, so everything built upon it is easily toppled.</span><br />

Of the numerous encounters I've had with Soriano's followers (I say Soriano's followers because they don't follow what the Bible says, just what Soriano says) I've been called everything from 'stupid' to 'demon', but that's okay. Words don't hurt anyway. It only emboldens me to try and pierce through the armor of lies Soriano has clad on them. The members' eyes are obviously blinded from the fact that they don't even bother investigating obvious flaws in Soriano's argument simply because they consider him above everyone else.</span></div>

Nowhere in the Bible is it said that reading scripture is for those sent alone. On the contrary, the Bible is very clear that we should all read and study God's words to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. </span></div>

And there is none other than Soriano who has the greatest pull in these people's hearts. He has them catering to his every whim. So why not make them attend his concert? Or why not make them boycott a TV station? They'll follow him, so WHY NOT? </span></span></span></div>

Sure enough he'll get his crowd going by stamping it in their brains that if it can't be found in the Bible, it must be rubbish. There are a lot of theological words not found in the Bible. Like 'trinity', 'polytheism', 'monotheism', etc. But Eli Soriano does not find any problem using the words 'rapture' when teaching about Christ's return, or 'atheists' when teaching about non-believers of God. This shows a double standard or utter hypocrisy on Soriano's part to pick words that support whatever he teaches and ridicule those that he does not.</span><br />

The Bible is crystal clear that the Lord is present everywhere. "Omni" (latin for "all") seems to fluster Soriano because of his unbiblical teaching that God has a behind <b><i>(<a href="http://wolfinthehenhouse.blogspot.com/2011/09/sorianos-ass-umptions.html">click here for the blog post on this</a>).</i></b> He is bent on his own fallacy that God having a behind, logically has eyes in his being. And it goes against human logic that God will be everywhere because His being sits His behind on a throne in heaven. The funny thing is, Soriano opens his argument (in his personal blog) that God's ways are not our ways, <i><b>Isaiah 55:8 "</b></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><i><b>For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD."</b> </i>But then he immediately employs "human logic" when told of <i><b>Proverbs 15:3, "</b></i></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><i><b>The eyes of the LORD [are] in every place, beholding the evil and the good."</b></i>. Arguing that God's eyes cannot be 'logically' everywhere because His being is stuck in His throne! </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><br /></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"></span></span><br />

Anyone who suggests that God is present in these places are wicked. Another two points for Soriano to ponder here, does everybody who enters a casino gamble? What of those abducted and imprisoned in whorehouses? Does God say, "Sorry kids, Soriano says I can't go there to help you, so tough luck."</span></span></li>

With it they will tell you "your church is not in the Bible", or "your Pastor is afraid to face Soriano". Your Pastor only wants your tithes so he can live lavishly. I mean How disinformed are these people? They are so brainwashed by Soriano that they end up hating other religions the way their leader badmouths them. </span></div>

This bizarre lesson from Soriano is based on a couple of verses in the Bible. First, he tries to establish that Eve did not willfully sin in Eden, but was JUST deceived by the devil in <i style="text-align: left;"><b>1 Timothy 2:14</b></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-align: left;"><i><b> "</b></i><span class="Apple-style-span"><i><b>Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."</b></i></span> Soriano suggests that she was less of a sinner than Adam. Then he follows up with the next verse where he claims Paul declared Eve to have enjoyed salvation through childbirth in <i><b>1 Timothy 2:15, "</b></i></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span"><i style="font-weight: bold;">Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety." </i>So when Cain (the first murderer) came into the world, Eve was saved.</span></span></span></div>

Wasn't it the Bible that said <b><i>"all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)</i></b>? How could it be 'ALL' if it excludes Eve? How could she have special favors when she's the reason Adam ate of the fruit in the first place?. Is the Bible lying, or is Soriano lying? </span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span">After a thoughtful study of Soriano's "doctrinal verses" I have come to see how SHALLOWLY Soriano interprets scripture yet again. This time around, he willfully neglects the prior verses where Paul was scolding (if that is the appropriate term) women who cause disruptions while men are praying at church. Paul goes as far as telling women how to dress and conduct themselves during worship. Such words could be considered hurtful to the point where Paul reminds women of their second-class stature even in Eden. </span>Such a lecture would have certainly disheartened any woman and Paul was sensitive enough to offer a consolation that through their childbearing (meaning rearing, teaching, instruction, care of children) they are saved (from their second class social stature) if they are to do their duties faithfully.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />I doubt if Soriano even considered trying to understand WHY Paul used Adam and Eve analogously. Because his interpretation is void of awareness as to the social standing of women in the early church. When he came across the words "Eve" and "saved" in one verse, he immediately concludes Eve is saved from God's wrath.<br /><br />Here's the low down on all these. Eve sinned against God and was banished from Eden, remember that. She suffered spiritual death upon eating the forbidden fruit (because she wanted to be like God) and was punished with great pains in giving birth. It does not make sense for God to punish and banish Eve then save her just because she gave birth. Only the atoning blood of Christ will do it, nothing less.</span></div>

But he chose a shaky foothold, set on shallow interpretation. His followers only need to open their eyes and see the truth in scripture and the fallacy in Soriano's words. </span></span></div>

It caught my attention mainly because they were talking about God.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /><span class="Apple-style-span">Back then I had little knowledge of Mr. Soriano and his ministry (if you can call it that), aware of only minor details and ashamedly only because of the comedy show Bubble Gang where Brod Pete parodies Soriano's broadcasts. This was back in the late 90s or early 2000s. I had no inkling as to the kind of person Soriano was at that time. I never thought a preacher, one who's on TV, could be so fundamentally wrong. </span></span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span">I only caught the end part, but fortunately the channel (owned by Soriano) airs reruns throughout the day. So I got to see the whole thing again.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span"><br /></span><span class="Apple-style-span">He begins by citing that God appeared as a man several times in scripture. He says God spoke to Abraham and Moses "face to face". He also mentions Jacob uttering the words "face to face". </span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span"></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span">"Face to face" in the Biblical sense means "in close communion". Moses conversed with God as if He was physically present. Abraham and Jacob saw angels. The latter even wrestling with one. Yet these instances does not show God but representations of God only. God appears to us in ways that we will be able to comprehend. This is why all appearances mentioned have the words "looked like", "appeared like", "likened to a", etc.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span"><br /></span><span class="Apple-style-span">The same can be said when Soriano presented passages from Ezekiel and Revelations saying the images are more detailed in description. He negates the word "like" and all conjugations of it in the passages he read. Furthermore he opines that a throne is seen in Heaven, and God sat on it. Then assumes "God MUST have a behind then". My sixth grade English teacher would have picked him up by his ear for not being able to discern between literal and figurative sentences. "Ruling with an iron fist" must mean a ruler with a fist made of iron, the way Soriano inteprets scripture.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span"></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span">The highlight of the exchange was Sori<span class="Apple-style-span">ano's call for the reader to read out <b><i>Genesis 1:24, "</i></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><i><b>And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"</b>. </i>Then he looks at the crowd as if to signal that the debate was over, because the Bible has spoken. Turning to the young man he snarlingly says, </span></span><span class="Apple-style-span"><i><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">"If you believe you were created in the image of God, and you have a behind, God has one too!"</span></b> </i></span>The crowd erupts in cheers while the poor kid was both shocked at the assertions he hears from a supposed preacher and from the adoration of the crowd who were oblivious to the unbiblical stance their prophet promotes.</span></span><br />

That he was not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. He can eat of any tree except from this particular tree. We all know the story of how the serpent beguiled (tricked) Eve into eating the fruit from the said tree, and then made her husband Adam do the same.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />It can be said that the fruit itself did not contain any knowledge, and that it was placed in the Garden to test man. Moreover, Adam came pre-programmed straight from the highest intelligence there is. There was nothing in the fruit that would have improved his already stellar intellect. I think Adam may have had an IQ of 1000 or more. Can you name anybody who can walk, talk, and get married all in one day? I'm just trying to paint a picture of Adam and Eve that will make you agree to the fact that they were perfect, they were in paradise, and they were with God.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />What is it then that could have trumped their dreamy situation? How about, becoming like God themselves? That would have certainly had their minds picturing things far better than what they already possessed. Enter the serpent (Satan), the father of lies. He whispered THAT very notion into Eve's ear. First by making her doubt God <i><b>"hath God said...?"</b></i>, then by denying God's very words. <b><i>"ye shall not surely die"</i></b>, and the rest is Biblical history.<span class="Apple-style-span"> </span>Adam and Eve ate of the fruit because they listened to their desires of becoming like God. One bite, and they lost their innocence, they lost paradise, and most of all their communion with God. Sin entered into the world, and by sin came death (separation from God). Satan's words messed up everything for man.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />Guess who is using the same words nowadays. Yes, Eli Soriano in his program, Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path). He's telling listeners the same thing Satan told Eve back in the Garden of Eden. <b><i>"Ye shall be as gods"</i></b>. He cites verses from the Bible that in a very shallow way, supports his perverse doctrine. He argues that in <b><i>John 10:34-35</i></b> where Jesus himself referred to men as <i><b>"gods"</b></i>. We know that Jesus meant "men of higher stature" but for Eli Soriano, the word 'god' is 'God'. Then he'll point you to Webster's definition for confirmation of the word. A secular dictionary, imagine that! Doesn't Soriano have access to any concordance?Another passage he cites is <b>Psalms 82:1, <i>"God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods."</i></b> Here David refers to the same people Jesus meant. Men of high stature such as priests, prophets, kings, and rulers. But as with the first, 'god' is 'God' in Soriano's interpretation.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />He further builds on these passages and even starts introducing himself as a god. Moreover, he goes on to convince his followers that they can attain godship themselves by citing yet another verse <b>Ephesians 5:17 <i>"Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is]"</i></b>, interpreting it as God wishes for them TO BECOME like God. This goes back to his principal doctrine that there are MANY gods, and NOT just one God. An example of which he says is <b>Exodus 7:1 <i>"And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh..."</i></b> without taking into account that God was using an analogy of Himself and Moses, as Moses and Aaron.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />How shallow can Soriano get? He actually doesn't need to go any deeper because he's catering to people who don't know better. People who cannot tell between right and wrong interpretations. People who are innocent. It's Adam and Eve all over again! I would give anything to have been in the Garden of Eden to stop the serpent from whispering in Eve's ear. I would have dashed in, took the serpent by the tail, spun all subtilness from his head, and flung him to a bunch of cacti. What's done is done and we can't do anything about it. But we can help prevent it from happening again. We can help save people from Hellfire by exposing Soriano's heresies. Let's not keep to ourselves and do nothing. By doing nothing, we are helping evil triumph. Let's shut this serpent up.</span><br />
